Updates: February 2003

A snow storm has closed school for today,
using the district's last normal calamity day. This is quite a nice
occurrence because I've a lot of school work to do today. If I get done I
wholly intend to work on some fanfiction and things because I dearly, dearly
need to. But I must first write four papers for English, which may or may
not leave me incapacitated.
GokuGirl has been kind enough to relinquish
me of my duties as a 2002 Sennenki Judge; there was no way I was going to be
able to finish before summer due to the large volume of entries, devotable time,
and my wilting willpower for reading certain fanfiction.

The combination of icy roads and patchy dense
fog delayed school for two hours today, permitting me time to update Bustle and
change the poll.

The snow has brought about a cancellation of
school today, bringing the season usage of calamity days uncomfortably close to
the allotted limit. I'm not keen on going to school in the summer.
I'm also not keen on going to school in the winter. It's swell, though;
since the weather impeded me from seeing Daredevil on opening night (I
saw X-Men and Spider-Man on opening night, but now I've missed
one!) and impeded me from seeing it throughout the weekend, I should be able to
go see it today. That, of course, will be after I go measure all of the
snow again and traipse about like a giddily jovial maniac.
Humanity has made a great stride toward
utopia today: I've uploaded a bit of non-fiction to MSROCAI. Utopia is a
synonym for chaos, correct? (-: The first fabulous nonly-fictional
story is
Cute Little Critter. Since this is a new section, all of the
information has been updated accordingly.
On a related note, for those of you familiar
with Fanfiction.net but no
longer browse it, I inform you that Xing has spun-off all of the original,
non-fanfiction material into a separate but nearly identical site,
FictionPress.net.
It's quite a nice place.
Oh, and my fanfiction. Yes, well,
shortly. Maybe even today (oh, that was an amusing jest, 'twasn't it?).

The drifting has hindered an accurate
measurement, but I think I can safely say we got a foot of snow here in Vandalia
since Friday afternoon. I measured six inches of snow on my car this
morning, and there were about eight inches on it yesterday before I cleared it
off. There were three inches of new snow on the driveway this morning and
about a foot on the deck. Due to drifting, parts of the yard have six
inches of snow and parts have twelve. The drifts up against the house are
about seventeen inches deep. Of course, the temperatures are going to rise
this week and everything will be melted within a couple of days. (-:
