Vegita's Schooling
Chapter 7
“Let go, Goku!” Piccolo cried. Goku continued to fly to an unknown destination, dragging Piccolo along by his antennas.
“Wake up, class,” Mrs. Edible said in a soft voice.
“Finally,” Vegita muttered as he snapped out of his Piccolo-like meditation.
“Go to your seat, class,” Mrs. Edible said. “Gohan, will you pass out the reading books?”
“Sure,” said Gohan. Gohan went to a bookshelf and grabbed some red workbooks.
“Class,” Mrs. Edible said, “we are going to do some reading on our own today. Who remembers how to read from last time?”
The hand of everyone in the class, save for Vegita, went into the air.
“Vegita, do you know how to read?” Mrs. Edible asked.
“Of course he doesn’t,” Gohan mumbled.
“Shut up, son of Kakkorratt!” Vegita yelled. All of the children froze in terror.
“Vegita!” Mrs. Edible snapped. She realized her mistake and cowered in a corner.
“What did you say?” Vegita asked in a menacing tone.
“Nothing,” Mrs. Edible’s quivering voice uttered.
“Big…” Vegita began.
“Oh, crap,” Gohan thought.
“Bang…” Vegita said.
“Masenko!” Gohan shouted, knocking Vegita off balance.
“Brat!” Vegita screamed.
“Get over it Veggie, I am an adult,” Gohan said.
“V…Ve…Veg…Veggie?” Vegita asked. “Final…” By now, Vegita was in SSJ2.
“Masenko!” Gohan cried again. He knocked Vegita backwards.
“You…” Vegita began. Something in the corner of his eye caught his attention and he sat down.
Gohan looked at all of the papers and such things that had been knocked around the room.
Vegita picked a book up off of the floor. The cover was a picture of a pink flower, fuzzy rabbit, and a girl in a pink dress.
Gohan saw what Vegita had in his hand. “What the heck are you doing?” Gohan asked.
“I want to read this,” Vegita said with a very interested expression on his face.
“Where are we going, Goku?” Piccolo demanded.
“You need to keep your mouth shut,” Goku said, flying above his house. Goku vanished momentarily, then reappeared. He had picked something up from his Vegita Schooling office. He had a green backpack in his hand, and it was full.
“What the heck?” asked Piccolo.
Goku opened the backpack and then threw something to Piccolo. “Put it on,” Goku said.
“Vegita, are you alright?” Gohan asked.
Vegita went to his seat and sat down. “I thought I said I want to read this,” Vegita said.
Gohan fell to the floor laughing at Vegita.
“Gohan,” Vegita said. “You are disturbing me! Woman,” he called to the teacher, “instruct me on reading this!”
“Uh, fine. Sure,” the startled teacher said.
“Goku, I look like crap in this,” Piccolo said.
“Come out from behind the trees and let me see,” Goku said.
“I don’t wanna’,” Piccolo said.
“Fine, Vegita,” Goku said, putting emphasis behind the prince’s name.
“What did you call me?” Piccolo asked.
“You are acting like Vegita,” Goku said.
“Fine, anything to be different from him,” Piccolo said. He walked out from a thick cluster of trees. He was wearing a schoolboy outfit just like Vegita’s.
“Great,” Goku said as his smile grew to an impossible size.
“Gohan, go to the library and get a copy of Vegita’s book for everyone,” Mrs. Edible said.
“Why?” Gohan asked.
“I want to live,” the teacher said.
“But I can…” Gohan began.
“Don’t make him mad,” Mrs. Edible said.
Gohan momentarily vanished. When he returned, he distributed the books to the class.
“Take this,” Goku said, handing Piccolo the backpack.
“What are you going to make me do?” Piccolo asked.
“You said that you had never been to school,” Goku said, his smile almost too large for his face.
“Goku, please, no,” Piccolo pleaded. “Anything but…”
“You sound like Vegita,” Goku said.
“Let’s get going,” Piccolo regretfully said.
“Great!” exclaimed Goku as he dragged Piccolo off.
“Goten, Trunks, will you two take this box to Mrs. Edible?” their teacher asked.
“Sure,” said Goten.
“Yeah,” said Trunks. “Not like you are going to teach us in your scared-of-my-dad mode.”
“Just take the extra armor,” their teacher said. The two walked out of the room with the box in hand.
“New student? Another?” asked Mr. Food.
“Yes,” the woman in the office said.
“Coming,” said the principal.
“He will be right with you,” she told Goku and Piccolo.
“Open your books, class,” Mrs. Edible said.
One small boy raised his hand and asked, “May I try to read first?”
“Sure,” said the teacher.
The boy stared long and hard at his book, then said, “Once upon a time…” He read extremely slowly.
“Hurry up, brat!” Vegita roared. “While I’m young!”
“A little rabbit named….” The boy continued after a moment frozen in terror.
“How the heck do you get “rabbit” from…this!” Vegita demanded, writing “rabbit” in the air with his finger.
“We need to get these to room 126,” Krillin said, holding a box of sports protective gear.
“Yeah,” said Yamcha, also holding a box.
“Why?” asked Tien.
“Isn’t room 126 Vegita’s class?” Yamcha asked. The three paled.
“Hi,” the principal said, greeting Goku and Piccolo. He looked at Piccolo. “Boy, aren’t we different?”
“Shut up,” said Piccolo.
“Come this way to your class,” the principal said.
“Doesn’t he get a tour?” Goku asked.
“Not after that Vegita fellow,” Mr. Food said.
“I need to check on Vegita,” Goku said.
“Room 126,” said the principal. Goku rushed off.
Mr. Food knocked on Piccolo’s teacher’s door. “New student.”
“Full,” came the teacher’s nervous voice. She had plenty of room but was scared that the student might be Vegita.
“Sorry,” said the principal. “I think my…umm…friend, has an opening. Follow me.” Piccolo followed the principal to his new class.
Trunks, Goten, Goku, Piccolo, and Mr. Food all got to the same place at the same time. They all went in the room at once, paying no attention to each other. Then, they all saw each other. There was dead silence, as looks of total disbelief came across everyone’s face. Piccolo, Vegita, Goten, Gohan, Goku, Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, and Trunks were shocked.
“Piccolo?” Gohan asked.
“Kakkorratt?” Vegita asked.
“Dad?” Goten asked.
“Krillin?” Goku asked.
“Tien?” Piccolo asked.
“Goku?” Yamcha asked.
“Vegita?” everyone asked. Their eyes bulged as they saw the book that he was reading.
“Oh, my,” said Goku.
“Piccolo?” Gohan asked again.
Everyone burst into tears from very hard laughter.
